Public Health Emergency Awarded to Aminata Kamara (Treasurer SLCCR) by Celebration of African Australians ACT

Sierra Leonean born Aminata currently works in the Acute Medical ward at Calvary public hospital, where she looks after patients with different illnesses including COVID positive patients.

Coming from a war-torn country where there were little or no opportunities, she managed to put her experiences behind and strive for something better when she migrated to Australia.

She started as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN), then to an enrolled nurse and now a registered nurse providing core and support to others in the community.
